Learners are Earners!

Really it’s true! The more I learn the more skilled I get at things. I wish I loved learning 20+ years ago like I do now. I would have been an awesome student in high school. That wasn’t the case back then. I loved to goof off and be the class clown. I’ll admit most of it was fun! Not getting my homework done was kind of a drag though. I would feel like an idiot for not turning in my homework and then came the tests that I never studied for. Good Times! (not really) It’s weird how we change over time. I now love to learn! I won’t read anything unless it’s for self improvement. To me fiction books seem like a waste of time. If I’m going to read I want to learn something valuable! If you like fiction that is good too, at least you are ahead of the people who don’t read at all.

So You Are Busy

Are you a busy person? Chances are you are and you are not alone. Most people are very busy. That is still no excuse to stop improving yourself. Use spare time to learn more. Even if you take 5 minutes here and there to read an interesting article that you can learn from that is better than nothing. Fill your brain with data! Everybody has to go to the bathroom and if you are doing your ” bathroom business” that is a good time to do a quick read. Don’t just go on social media and play around, find something that you can learn from. Maybe just a quick article. Then get back to pooping and playing on Facebook! The whole point is there are ways to find time. Find ways where you can fit learning and reading into your schedule.

Keep Ahead Of Your Competition

Read and learn as much as you can whenever you can to stay ahead of your competition! I usually take a little time in the morning to read on stuff in my niche (social media marketing). I try to keep up on it, because it seems like daily there are new changes going on. Social media marketing is a super fast moving industry and if I don’t keep up with the changes and ways to get better at it my competition will.

Whatever industry or niche you are in stay ahead of your competition by learning as much as you can. Never get too busy to improve yourself.

Never Stop Learning

Stay at it, every little bit counts. Never let your mind go without proper exercise. The mind needs exercise just like the body. Keep it active and your brain will stay healthier longer. Just like working out set up a routine. Maybe 10 quick minutes in the morning, or at night before bed. Find time to improve yourself mentally no matter what industry you are in. Always remember that Learners Are Earners!

Facebook has now added free group voice calls on Facebook Messenger! How cool is that!?

Well now anyone with with Messenger for Android or IOS can now initiate a group voice call for up to 50 people. This is the latest in the many improvements that Facebook has added to its platform.

Users should have seen the phone option worldwide this week, Facebook messaging chief David Marcus said in a recent post.

The new call feature only applies to voice calls for now. Video calls are still only one to one.

Only a few years ago you could build your page likes/page fans and promote to them, share content with them, run contests, etc. and it would reach a good 25% or more of your already built audience. Things have changed in the last couple years. You are lucky to get a 5%-7% organic reach now. Organic means you don’t have to pay to reach those customers. Now Facebook is a “pay to play” format. I could write a very long list of things you could post on your social media pages, but let’s start with a few that are sure to get some attention and engagements from your customers/fans. I don’t want to get into the boring ones because we are all about FUN here at Fun To Be Social! so let’s get to it!

This is always a popular one! Remember when you post a contest on your businesses social media pages make sure to read the rules of each social media platform. Each company has set rules when it comes to contests. Make sure to read them! Contests usually get a good response. The two main components are to 1. Have a nice prize, 2. Make it simple. Easy as that get creative and make it Fun!

Give people a fun puzzle to solve and tell them to share it if they can figure it out. People love to do puzzles on social media!

Make some funny memes that relate to your industry. A good meme can go viral pretty fast. Make sure to put your company name in the corner of the picture so if it does go viral people will see where it originated from.

When Is A Good Time To Post On Social Media?

How Often Should You Post on Social Media?
There really is no one answer to this question. There are a lot of variables that come into play when deciding how many times you should post on social media. Some things to consider are;

  • What platform? Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • What industry are you in?
  • When are your customers online?
  • What are you posting?

What Platform?
Each social media platform is different when it comes to posting. What might work on one platform might not work on the other. For example five tweets a day might be good on Twitter. On the other hand five posts a day on Facebook might not be good and might annoy some of your page fans. The best way to figure this out is to do some testing with posts, tweets, etc. Start out with about three go up to four, five, six and see what is working in regards to getting customer engagements. This will take a little patience because you want to find a good number and balance that works on each platform. Don’t rush it. If it takes a few weeks of testing it will be well worth it in the long run. Take notes and try to find the right balance on each social media platform. Find a good number of posts, tweets, etc stick with it for awhile then after about six months change it up a little to see if there is something that might work better. After awhile you will have a great idea on how many posts will work for your business.

What Industry Are You In?
This makes a big difference. I think the best way to figure this part out is to look at your competition and see how many times a day they are posting. This will give you a good idea on what is working because you will get to see how many engagements they are getting and when they are posting. Obviously only look at the competition that is actually getting customer engagements. The competition that is getting little to no customer engagement is not doing very well in social media. You don’t want to be them!

When Are “YOUR” Customers Online?
This is actually a pretty easy thing to figure out using Facebook Insights. This will let you see when your customers are online. Use this to your advantage when posting!

What Are You Posting?
This matters because it will tell you what posts are performing the best with your audience. Are you posting/tweeting informative and educational material, funny posts, company information like employee awards, office pictures, etc? Are you promoting too much? While doing your testing figure out what kind of posts work best and when. Are your educational posts doing good in the morning, but not that great in the afternoon? Do your funny posts work best in the late afternoon? Take notes and try to find the best balance of what works and when!

Like I said there is no one answer on when to post on each Social Media platform. The above guidelines will help you to determine what will work best for you and your company. It takes time and some patience, but when you start to figure out the best times to post you will be taking full advantage of the power of Social Media!!

Ticketmaster Just Made Buying Tickets Even Easier

Ticketmaster will be selling tickets directly on Facebook per Buzzfeed News reports.

They plan on launching the service at the end of the month on a limited basis. This is because of the number of customers who spend more time on mobile apps than they do on websites. This will lead to making it easier for customers to buy tickets from Ticketmaster.

“By putting the ability to buy tickets directly on Facebook, we hope that we’re going to provide a more seamless purchase experience and sell more tickets.” Dan Armstrong Ticketmaster’s Vice President and General Manager of distributed commerce, told BuzzFeed.

Convenient Ticket Buying

If this goes well I think this will make it so much easier to buy tickets for concerts, shows, events, etc. Don’t get me wrong it is pretty easy already to do it online. I do it all the time and find it very convenient, but not having to leave an app to buy tickets is even better. Buying your tickets on Facebook will lead to bigger things being integrated into social media. It is still growing and there is still so much room for growth in social media and this new buying experience proves that.

When using your social media for business don’t even think about how you can promote. Think about how you can connect with your audience in a FUN way! Is there a post that people will engage with?
