Learn More, Earn More

Learn More, Earn More

Learners are Earners!

Really it’s true! The more I learn the more skilled I get at things. I wish I loved learning 20+ years ago like I do now. I would have been an awesome student in high school. That wasn’t the case back then. I loved to goof off and be the class clown. I’ll admit most of it was fun! Not getting my homework done was kind of a drag though. I would feel like an idiot for not turning in my homework and then came the tests that I never studied for. Good Times! (not really) It’s weird how we change over time. I now love to learn! I won’t read anything unless it’s for self improvement. To me fiction books seem like a waste of time. If I’m going to read I want to learn something valuable! If you like fiction that is good too, at least you are ahead of the people who don’t read at all.

So You Are Busy

Are you a busy person? Chances are you are and you are not alone. Most people are very busy. That is still no excuse to stop improving yourself. Use spare time to learn more. Even if you take 5 minutes here and there to read an interesting article that you can learn from that is better than nothing. Fill your brain with data! Everybody has to go to the bathroom and if you are doing your ” bathroom business” that is a good time to do a quick read. Don’t just go on social media and play around, find something that you can learn from. Maybe just a quick article. Then get back to pooping and playing on Facebook! The whole point is there are ways to find time. Find ways where you can fit learning and reading into your schedule.

Learners are Earners

Keep Ahead Of Your Competition

Read and learn as much as you can whenever you can to stay ahead of your competition! I usually take a little time in the morning to read on stuff in my niche (social media marketing). I try to keep up on it, because it seems like daily there are new changes going on. Social media marketing is a super fast moving industry and if I don’t keep up with the changes and ways to get better at it my competition will.

Whatever industry or niche you are in stay ahead of your competition by learning as much as you can. Never get too busy to improve yourself.

Never Stop Learning

Stay at it, every little bit counts. Never let your mind go without proper exercise. The mind needs exercise just like the body. Keep it active and your brain will stay healthier longer. Just like working out set up a routine. Maybe 10 quick minutes in the morning, or at night before bed. Find time to improve yourself mentally no matter what industry you are in. Always remember that Learners Are Earners!

“I don’t think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.” ~Abraham Lincoln

You must love to learn, because if you made it this far in the article learning and reading is important to you. Look at you go! Keep it up Readers are Leaders and Leaders are Readers!

Group Voice Calls Now On Facebook Messenger

Facebook adds group calls to Messenger

Facebook has now added free group voice calls on Facebook Messenger! How cool is that!?

Free Group Voice Calls On Facebook Messenger

Well now anyone with with Messenger for Android or IOS can now initiate a group voice call for up to 50 people. This is the latest in the many improvements that Facebook has added to its platform.

Users should have seen the phone option worldwide this week, Facebook messaging chief David Marcus said in a recent post.

The new call feature only applies to voice calls for now. Video calls are still only one to one.

Facebook Messenger Group Voice Calls

How It Is Important For Business Owners

This could be a sign that messaging apps are the next tool for gaining and keeping users. I expect other social media platforms to start tinkering with ideas on how they can improve their direct messaging. If not they could fall far behind the likes of Facebook and Google+.

I don’t see a play here at the moment for businesses to really take advantage of, but it’s an innovation that will kind of tell you the way social media is heading into the future. It’s an ever changing industry and that’s why I love it. Social media never gets old and stale it will keep evolving to keep users and to keep them engaged and coming back. The innovations will only get better!

Why Facebook Is The Best For Social Media Marketing

Why Facebook Is The Best

Facebook Really Is The Best For Business

With over 1.6 billion users nothing else compares. The Facebook Ad Platform is also very friendly and easy to use for all size businesses. Twitter, Google+ Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat are all very good options for businesses to use. I recommend that you use all or at least a few of them. I might add that for B2B Linkedin is very good. I still think Facebook beats all of them hands down. Facebook has more members than the next 3 social media platforms combined and there is no reason to think is will slowing down anytime soon. Fun To Be Social specializes in Facebook Marketing because if we are going to help our client’s with building their social media presence we are going to specialize and stick with the best. Facebook is the King of social media and you should be taking advantage of it if you are not already.

Facebook Advertising Keeps Rising

Seriously if you are not taking advantage now you need to be. Right now it is still affordable for all size businesses. Only a few years ago you could build your page likes/page fans and promote to them, share content with them, run contests, etc. and it would reach a good 25% or more of your already built audience. Things have changed in the last couple years. You are lucky to get a 5%-7% organic reach now. Organic means you don’t have to pay to reach those customers. Now Facebook is a “pay to play” format. You can’t just post and expect all your page fans will see your posts. Not even close! Facebook is still a great deal for your advertising dollars, but you gotta pay. Have a good strategy and clear goals to make it work. Make sure to do lots of testing to see what works best and most of all KEEP IT FUN! Be social and don’t over promote.

Make Facebook Ads Work For Your Business

The average cost per click on Facebook is approximately .65 – .70 cents. It can be higher if you don’t know what you are doing. So do lots of research, do lots of testing to see what works, and use Facebook Insights to evaluate your advertising efforts. Do your best to post at the right times. Post when your customers are most active. This will take some patience and time to figure out. Use posts that will get customers to engage. Here are 17 post ideas you can totally steal. Facebook will be around for a long time it isn’t going anywhere. Heck they are reporting record profits every quarter. They are growing and growing at a very rapid rate. If you aren’t on board now you better start. Late is better than never. Facebook is the King of social media and no one is even close. Tap into that and use it wisely to grow your business. Oh yeah and have FUN while doing it!

When Is A Good Time To Post On Social Media?

Fun To Be Social - Las Vegas

How Often Should You Post on Social Media?
There really is no one answer to this question. There are a lot of variables that come into play when deciding how many times you should post on social media. Some things to consider are;

  • What platform? Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • What industry are you in?
  • When are your customers online?
  • What are you posting?

What Platform?
Each social media platform is different when it comes to posting. What might work on one platform might not work on the other. For example five tweets a day might be good on Twitter. On the other hand five posts a day on Facebook might not be good and might annoy some of your page fans. The best way to figure this out is to do some testing with posts, tweets, etc. Start out with about three go up to four, five, six and see what is working in regards to getting customer engagements. This will take a little patience because you want to find a good number and balance that works on each platform. Don’t rush it. If it takes a few weeks of testing it will be well worth it in the long run. Take notes and try to find the right balance on each social media platform. Find a good number of posts, tweets, etc stick with it for awhile then after about six months change it up a little to see if there is something that might work better. After awhile you will have a great idea on how many posts will work for your business.

What Industry Are You In?
This makes a big difference. I think the best way to figure this part out is to look at your competition and see how many times a day they are posting. This will give you a good idea on what is working because you will get to see how many engagements they are getting and when they are posting. Obviously only look at the competition that is actually getting customer engagements. The competition that is getting little to no customer engagement is not doing very well in social media. You don’t want to be them!

When Are “YOUR” Customers Online?
This is actually a pretty easy thing to figure out using Facebook Insights. This will let you see when your customers are online. Use this to your advantage when posting!

What Are You Posting?
This matters because it will tell you what posts are performing the best with your audience. Are you posting/tweeting informative and educational material, funny posts, company information like employee awards, office pictures, etc? Are you promoting too much? While doing your testing figure out what kind of posts work best and when. Are your educational posts doing good in the morning, but not that great in the afternoon? Do your funny posts work best in the late afternoon? Take notes and try to find the best balance of what works and when!

Like I said there is no one answer on when to post on each Social Media platform. The above guidelines will help you to determine what will work best for you and your company. It takes time and some patience, but when you start to figure out the best times to post you will be taking full advantage of the power of Social Media!!

When do you post? What works best for you? Let us know in the comments.

Ticketmaster Will Sell Tickets On Facebook

Ticketmaster To Sell Tickets On Facebook

Ticketmaster Just Made Buying Tickets Even Easier

Ticketmaster will be selling tickets directly on Facebook per Buzzfeed News reports.

They plan on launching the service at the end of the month on a limited basis. This is because of the number of customers who spend more time on mobile apps than they do on websites. This will lead to making it easier for customers to buy tickets from Ticketmaster.

“By putting the ability to buy tickets directly on Facebook, we hope that we’re going to provide a more seamless purchase experience and sell more tickets.” Dan Armstrong Ticketmaster’s Vice President and General Manager of distributed commerce, told BuzzFeed.

Convenient Ticket Buying

If this goes well I think this will make it so much easier to buy tickets for concerts, shows, events, etc. Don’t get me wrong it is pretty easy already to do it online. I do it all the time and find it very convenient, but not having to leave an app to buy tickets is even better. Buying your tickets on Facebook will lead to bigger things being integrated into social media. It is still growing and there is still so much room for growth in social media and this new buying experience proves that.

Will you buy tickets on Facebook? I know I will at least give it a try. Let us know your opinions in the comments.

Don’t Pitch People On Social Media

Be Social, Don't Pitch People

Be Fun and Social

This isn’t 1985 people don’t want or need to be sold with the old school marketing techniques. Years ago companies would push their sales and marketing messages down people’s throats. Just advertising their products and services with very little value to the consumer in the message.

Add Value

In today’s business world people don’t want to be pitched or sold. Instead they want to connect with a company or brand on a personal level. Think about how you respond to other companies online. You don’t care about their products and advertising so much. Most people care if the company can offer them something of value first. That’s where social media really becomes valuable to businesses in today’s world.

Use Social Media To Be Social

When using your social media for business don’t even think about how you can promote. Think about how you can connect with your audience in a FUN way! Is there a post that people will engage with? Can you share some info about your company and employees? How about a FUN contest! Here are some post ideas. Just use social media to be “social”. Test posts and find out what gets your customers talking about you. Earn respect and business will follow!

Can You Promote Ever?

Now don’t get me wrong you can do a promotion here and there, but keep it to a minimum! When I say minimum maybe 10% or less of your posts should be promoting your products, services, or brand. Even when you decide to do a promotional post try to keep it social in some way so it doesn’t look too promotional or pitchy.

Keep It Fun!

No matter what you do never get too serious on social media! Keep it FUN!! Make sure the value you add outweighs the selling. Customers will come to like you and trust you and in today’s business world that’s what matters most.

5 Reason To Outsource Your Social Media

Is it Worth It To OutsourceYour Social Media-

Should You Outsource Your Social Media?

So you are thinking of making a bigger impact on social media. Your company doesn’t do much with social media yet, but you have read all the benefits of social media marketing. The question you may have now is if you should hire somebody or should you outsource your social media marketing and management? There are some benefits to outsourcing if that’s the way you want to go. If you go with the right social media marketing agency you can take advantage of their expertise. You won’t have to worry about hiring someone who may or may not know as much as they say about social media marketing.

I’m not advocating either way. I think there are benefits to hiring an employee also. I will get into that at a later time. (keep posted) This article will help you gain some insight on reasons why hiring an outside social media marketing agency isn’t such a bad idea. I will help you look at some of the benefits for that here. Without further adieu let’s start!

1. Save Time

Social media can be very time consuming and takes lots of expertise to do it right. The thing with social media marketing is that it is constantly changing. Hiring a social media marketing agency can be very good because a good social media marketing agency will stay on top of the changes in social media marketing. This takes time and a normal Business Owner, Manager, or CEO doesn’t have time to deal with that. Running a business pulls you in all kinds of directions. There are other things to deal with like managing employees, taking care of customers/clients, budgets, taxes, insurance, inventory, etc. As you know there is just so much to do when running a business. Outsourcing your social media marketing can save you lots of time and headaches. Find a GOOD social media marketing agency and it should pay off in the long run for saving time.

2. Save Money

Yes! Save money by outsourcing your social media marketing. It’s true outsourcing can save you money. How can it save you money?

  1. No reason to hire more employees
  2. No downtime to pay for
  3. True Social Media Experts equal more efficient marketing
  4. No employee recruiting costs
  5. More effective social media marketing

There are five good reason. Not having to hire more employees can save money on training, recruiting, downtime, insurance, and payroll taxes just to name a few. A good social media marketing agency can be more effective because they are experts in that industry. They will know what works and what doesn’t. This will save you money with advertising costs on social media. This in turn leads to a better return on investment (ROI)

3. Cross Promoting Opportunities

A good social media marketing agency will have lots of clients. What this means for you is they may work out some deals with their clients to promote each other on social media. Usually only businesses that compliment one another. An example of a good complimenting cross promotion would be to pair an auto repair shop with a company that sells tires. There are many ways a good cross promotion could be done on social media. If done right it will be beneficial for both businesses!

4. Great Content

Social media is the most effective when there is great content. Posts that are shareable that get people talking. A good social media marketing agency will post great content. They will find shareable articles that educate and help your customers. Content that is something that catches the eyes and attention is what you want. Now you can do this yourself also and you might post great content that your customers love, but do you have the time to keep creating new content everyday or finding new content to share everyday? Most business owners just don’t have that kind of time. Creating and finding great content on your social media is time consuming in itself. It will pay off to find and post good, fun, shareable content. Just ask yourself if you have the time and resources to do it all yourself?

5. Social Media Marketing Expertise

Marketing on social media is a very effective way to get the word out about special promotions, new products, company information, and more. Doing this for free without paying for some kind of advertising on Facebook or Twitter is harder these days. Organic reach is dropping. That being said finding a good social media marketing agency will help when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck with Facebook and Twitter advertising. There are many people out there who claim to be Social Media Experts, but the truth is we are all still learning in this new industry. A 16 year old kid who plays of Facebook and Twitter is not a Social Media Expert. Let’s get that straight for anyone who thinks having a kid run your marketing is a good idea. I hear a lot of business owners tell me that they are good on Social Media because their kid does it for them. What??? Kids running your marketing? Not in my business!

In Closing

In the end it is up to you to make a decision on whether you should outsource your social media or not. Running a good, effective, and fun social media marketing and management campaign takes time and expertise. I’ve seen businesses that do very little on social media and they are not even small businesses. I can’t believe that a company wouldn’t be taking advantage of social media in some way. If you choose to outsource or not at least get in the game. The first rule of marketing is to “Go where the people are!” and social media is where people are!

Well that was fun, but I need a coffee! Maybe you should get one too! Coffee and Social Media what a great team!
