If you are born between 1961-1981 you are considered to be in Generation X. Millennials are the group born between 1981-1997. This article is about the benefits of being born in the Generation X era or even just a little after like an older Millennial. So I got you covered too Millennials.
I am not writing this article to bash any generation or age group. I wrote this to talk about the benefits of my generation. Each generation has it’s advantages, but below are some of the benefits I noticed with my age group.
Technology Back In The Day
If were born during 1975-1990 you are right in the sweet spot when it comes to technology and how it has changed. You grew up with very little technology, but you are not too old to have lived a lot of your adult life without it. You were young enough to keep up with technology as it grew. You are old enough to have gotten away with not having social media to catch your younger self doing dumb stuff. I am so glad that social media was not around when I was a kid! There would be some dumb stuff that I did probably posted on there that I would not want people to see today. 😀
I remember growing up and at 18 years old got my first phone in my car. It was the greatest thing in the world! It was a bag phone with a cord on it…lol. The bag part was the size of a big book. (that part carried the battery) I would call people on it and the first thing I would say is “I’m calling from the car on my car phone.” I thought it was so cool to tell people I was calling from my car! Don’t get me started on the cost! I could only talk for a couple minutes to who ever I called because the minutes were super expensive.
T.V.’s were still big huge boxy things when I grew up. A lot of times you needed two people to move a T.V. because they were so bulky. I remember seeing people who had a 32″ T.V. and thinking that they must be rich to have a T.V. that big. Today a 32″ T.V. is considered small.
Video game systems have come so far since I was growing up. My siblings and I were so excited to get a Nintendo in the mid 80’s! We would sit up and play all night and fight about who gets to play. Playing Super Mario Bros. I had to sit there and wait for player 1 to lose a life until I got my turn. It sucks to think about now, but I think the anticipation of getting my turn made it more fun. Today video game systems have such great graphics, speed, and features that I think people forget how ancient they used to be.
Technology has come so far since I was a kid. The best part about my generation is we got to experience it while it was still in it’s infancy. I think that alone helps us appreciate what we have today.
We Played Outside
Because technology wasn’t as far along as it is today I grew up in a generation that played outside a lot more than today’s generation. It was a fun time because we had to go outside or sit inside and be bored. I loved my childhood and am glad I grew up when I did.
Kids today do go outside and play, but I think a smaller percentage of them do now. It’s so easy to go on the phone and to communicate in so many ways that people don’t get together as much.
Learning Technology As We Go
When smartphones came out I was about 28 years old. When things started to advance more and more online I was still in my early 20’s. I was not very old when things were starting to take off in technology and I see that as an advantage. I was able to learn technology more as it was advancing.
Younger people have this advantage as well, but they don’t have the advantage of knowing life before technology. That’s why I think my generation is right in the sweet spot when it comes to being in between two worlds. One world with very little technology and another world with lots of technology.
If you are between 30-45 years old you will be in the same group as me. You have the best of both worlds right now. Your life experience along with your knowledge of today’s technology can be an advantage. How will you use it to create a better life today?
Do you always have errands and things to do on your days off? You should use your days off to unwind and refresh!
I understand that everybody has different situations. If you have kids and need to bring them to school or activities you need to do that on your days off. That kind of thing is understandable, but what I don’t understand is why people save all their chores or errands for their days off?? There are ways you can actually enjoy your days off without putting off important things that need to get done.
It can be a lot to do things on the days you work, but if you can get some basic stuff done on days you work it will free up time later. Shopping is one of them. I hate grocery shopping, but my wife and I like to get this done on days we work. This way we can stay out of the grocery stores on our days off. I don’t understand why someone would want to grocery shop on their days off. It just seems like a boring way to spend free time.
If you have off on the weekend try to plan your grocery shopping for a Wednesday or a Thursday. Once you get into this habit you will not regret it.
If you clean your place on your days off that is one thing you won’t have to worry about when you have some time off. If you don’t have time for that maybe hire somebody to come in and clean while you work.
If you have kids this one will be hard to do because if you’re a parent you know cleaning is basically an everyday thing. My suggestion is to do the bigger stuff during your work days so that way on your days off you can just do the smaller stuff to keep your place kept up.
Get Other Errands Done
Whether you have to run to the hardware store or the department store to pick up miscellaneous items you can do this on your work days also. I personally like to stay out the stores on the weekends if I can. They are usually busy and it seems like everybody is shopping on the same day.
So if you have things to buy for around the house go get them on your work days. Who wants to miss a football game because they are out shopping! I know you won’t catch me shopping on the weekends during football season!! 🙂
Get Work Tasks Done
If you have things you have been putting off try to get them done little by little so that they won’t be on your mind. Even if you had to get to work a little early everyday just get there and work on the things you have been putting off. On your days off you won’t have to think about these things and you can focus on having fun and recharging!
Put together things that you need to do when you get back to work on a list. Put it in writing so it’s not on your mind on your days off. I do this all the time and trust me it works great! I write down all the things I need to get done when I get back. It’s like freeing your mind so that you don’t have to think about that stuff all the time. It helps me to unwind and enjoy my time off. Try this and you will agree it works great!
Hire An Assistant
OK, I know this isn’t an option for everybody, but if you have the money in your budget this could really help free up more time. Even if you don’t want to pay a lot you could hire somebody one day per week to get small things done like shopping, cleaning, yard work, etc.
If hiring somebody can free up your time to let you recharge more on your days off it may be very beneficial. How can it be beneficial you ask? By recharging and getting away from work you can be more productive on the days that you do work. This can lead to more productive days which can lead to more income. More income could more than cover the cost of hiring someone to help with little chores and errands.
Enjoy Your Days Off!
Everybody needs a break here and there and by getting simple small tasks done before your days off you can really ENJOY your days off! Clearing your mind is essential to being more productive and to prevent burnout and fatigue. You want to do this because it can lead to more productive days when you are working.
Take a walk and smell the fresh air! Go for a swim, sit by the beach, go to a movie, or just do nothing. The point is your body and mind need a break every once in awhile so don’t save the mundane tasks for your days off! Get out and have fun and enjoy the days off that you earned!
During the week live by the motto Work Hard, Play Hard to keep you going. What’s the sense of life if you don’t take time for yourself and your family. Life is to be lived and working all the time is no life. Find the right balance so that you can create a happy balanced life.

Being a business owner is tough and challenging. In fact most businesses don’t survive past the first five years. You need to be tough, methodical, and persistent to make almost any business successful. What you want to do is WIN AT BUSINESS!
Don’t Let Small Things Defeat You!
When starting and running a business there will be so many little problems that distract or discourage you. Trust me it happens to every entrepreneur. Your job is not to let these little problems get you down. Just know that there will be problems that arise almost on a daily basis. If you expect them they won’t seem so overwhelming. Expect that there will be issues and you look for the solution without worrying too much.
If you use the principle below it will help you to see small problems as a fun challenge.
Use This Principle In Business: COMPETE WITH YOURSELF!
If you are a competitive person this will be easy to do. I am a very competitive person and I hate losing! When I run my business I like to see certain things as a competition to help drive me. I compete with myself to see if I can beat my own personal records.
This really works when it comes to sales. Sales are usually pretty easy to track and remember from month to month. If I signed five new clients last month I want to beat that number the next month!
Think of your past self as an opponent and do your best to beat and crush you past success! You are better today than you were yesterday so there is no reason you cannot crush you past numbers. Show you past self that even though you did good that you can do better! To succeed in business you need to have that competitive spirit.
Steve Jobs was famous for creating competition with his teams. There are stories where he would create such intense competitions with his employees that they would put in fifteen hour days or longer to beat the other team. They also had some fear thrown in to the fire because they did not want to disappoint Steve Jobs! This is an example I don’t think you need to push your employees that hard, but it is an example of how creating competition between employees can create better results.
Steve Jobs was always ahead of his time and when he would create teams of employees to compete with another team of employees it was kind of considered a bad thing because they would say he was creating a bad work environment and resentment between employees. This may be true, but he was onto something when it came to creating results. It probably could have been handled in a more friendly way.
Create fun and friendly competitions with your employees to drive results. You can add prizes or cash for performance. Have them select a teammate or you can assign teams to make things more fair. Don’t put the two top performers on a team this could make it very hard for the others to even compete and they might lose interest or ambition. In other words you don’t want to put Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan on the same team. If you have two all-star employees keep them on separate teams. This will also create more competition because the two top performers will want to win against each other for bragging rights!
Treat Each New Day As A Game
If you are a sports fan and a competitive person you can find ways to create competition for yourself and your employees. You and your strongest employees will hate losing. Find what drives you and your employees to WIN!! Create a competition that creates results and adds fun to the job at hand. Treat each day and new problem as a game and find ways to win that game!
I find that competition works well for me. I love a challenge and most of all I like to win. Applying this technique to business can make things more fun and drive better results. What kind of competitions can you create to make your business more successful? Do you wake up with that drive to win everyday?
Every morning you wake up is a chance to get a win! Get up and get ready for the game of business and crush it!

Everyday we have to persuade someone. Whether it’s persuading your boss to let you have a certain day off, your kids to clean their room, or trying to persuade new clients to give your business a try. You are selling someone or persuading them on a daily basis whether you realize it or not. Are you good at getting your way? Most people aren’t that good at selling/persuading they try, but really don’t have the skills. There are people who are really, really good at this.
Here are 12 ways that you can persuade and sell people a little easier.
1. Have Confidence: People who come off as really confident tend to get their way more often. Like the late great Vince Lombardi said “Confidence is contagious, so is a lack of confidence.”
2. Limited Choice: Give someone a very limited choice and ask them to pick one. For example: if you are talking with a customer and they have some interest show them the two best options and ask them which one they would like. When you do this most people will answer with the one they like best. You gave them a limited choice so they don’t feel overwhelmed and this makes for a great close! For more sales tips click here.
3. Go Big First: Ask for something bigger than what you actually want first. This way you can negotiate down to what you really wanted in the first place. Do you want $100? Ask for $500 at first! When you go down to $100 the person you are asking won’t think of it as such a high dollar amount because $100 is far less than $500. (This works well when negotiating)
4. Talk With Your Hands: Use your hands more when you talk. This will make what you are talking about seem bigger. Don’t stand there with your arms at your side or crossed. Use your hands to make big gestures and the person you are talking to will take notice.
5. Do Favors: If you add value and do favors for someone once in awhile they will feel like they owe you. Don’t do favors for this reason only, but if you are of value to someone they will want to be of value back. (at least we hope so)
6. Agree: Even if you don’t agree with someone don’t argue. Agree with them and they will feel like you have something in common. You don’t have to believe what they are saying, but agreeing with someone is a way to find common ground. If you don’t really like what they are saying agree anyway, because an argument will be worthless and your chances of persuading that person will drop significantly!
7. Use Their Name: When you meet someone use their name within the first minute or two of the conversation. This will bring a more personal feel to the conversation it will also help you to remember their name easier. Don’t overdue it with using their name in the conversation. Use it in the beginning, somewhere in the middle, and at the end of the meeting. You don’t want to come off as tacky for using someones name too much in a conversation.
8. Compliment Them: There is always something nice to say to someone. Complimenting people will actually give them a good impression of you. Who doesn’t like to get a nice compliment? It’s good practice to compliment people when you can. It reflects back on your character.
9. Dress Good, Feel Good: If you dress good you will feel good. When you feel good you will be more confident. If you dress good, it will be harder for people to tell you no.
10. Make People Come To You: It is always easier to get your way when people come to you. If you go to them they will almost always feel like they have the leverage. When someone feels like they have leverage the chances of persuading them goes way down.
11. Give Gifts: Everybody loves gifts! Even small gifts give people a favorable opinion of you.
12. Give Them A Vision: If you are trying to sell something like a service give your customer a vision of what you can do for them. Use the words “Imagine This” in the beginning of a sentence when explaining the benefits your service offers. Those two words can be very powerful.
Persuading and selling people is an art and mental chess game you are playing with the other person. If you use the right combination of these 12 ways to persuade others getting your way will be easier and the person you are persuading won’t feel like they made a bad decision.
Of course don’t use these 12 ways to deceive people to get your way. Be good with your intentions!

Do you have trouble focusing enough to accomplish your goals? Do you lose track of your short term goals? It happens to all of us, the good news is you can always change things up to get back on track for accomplishing your goals.
When life happens you can lose track of your goals. You get preoccupied with other things and before you know it your goals are put on the back burner.
Don’t let the fact that you didn’t accomplish your goals discourage you! The good thing about goals is they will still be there if you don’t reach them. It is your responsibility and yours only to reach and achieve your goals. Always remember that you are the only one who is responsible for your success.
You Need A Plan
This isn’t my secret yet I’ll get to that in a little bit. The point here is you need a plan to even reach your goals. Without direction how do you plan on reaching your goals? This part is important because you need to guide yourself towards your goals. Don’t go into your goals blindly know what direction you want to go and have a plan!
You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.” ~ Jim Rohn
My Secret For Reaching Goals
OK, this is the part you want to pay attention to. I started using this plan a little while ago and it has helped me tremendously with reaching my goals. This secret has been a new way that I plan my week, month, and year. I don’t make a “To Do List” now without doing this.
OK, Rocco what is it?? Calm down don’t get your undies in a bunch I will tell you!!
My Secret Is……. “Goal Themes”
What do I mean by “Goal Themes”?
When I start to think about my goals I write them down on a list. Once I have that list I try to think about when I can accomplish the goals. I then make a “Goal Theme” for the week or month based on the goal. This helps me stay focused on that one specific goal. I am not all over the place only accomplishing little goals here and there. I think it is better to focus on one at a time so that you can actually reach that specific goal.
This works best if you figure out your long term goals first and then break them down into smaller goals. Breaking your big goals down into smaller goals will help set you up for success! Every time you accomplish the smaller goal you will be one step closer to the BIG Goal!!
Start your week fast once you plan what your “Goal Theme” will be! Here are 7 tips to start your day fast. If you get going early Monday morning you will start to build momentum for the week!
Let me give you an example of what I am talking about here:
One of my “Goal Themes” for the week was to finish editing my ebook and to get it uploaded and set up to sell and promote. I was already done writing it, but I still needed to edit the book. That was something I kept putting off. I was doing other things and not wanting to finish the ebook because honestly I hate editing and I didn’t want to pay somebody to do it. I knew it had to be done, but just kept putting off.
When I thought of this “Goal Theme” idea I knew it was a winner because that Thursday I set my Goal Theme for all of next week to get my ebook edited and ready for sale. It gave me one thing to focus on and I accomplished a big goal that I was putting off! Now I don’t have to worry about finishing that ebook I can focus on promoting it and making some money on it now! Are you curious about the ebook I’m talking about? Check it out here. It’s my first completed book about social media marketing and I am very proud to have written it and I am proud that I set my “Goal Theme” to finish it, because if I didn’t who knows it might still be sitting waiting to be finished.
Example #2: One week I set my “Goal Theme” to create as much content as I could so that I could post later. I like to create my content in batches so that when I am busy I will have good content to post later. (videos, blog posts, and graphics) I got as much done as I possibly could when I was done with the week I created enough content to last at least eight weeks or two months. That freed up time for me to accomplish other goals the following weeks while still having great content to post!
Another Reason This Works
One reason having a “Goal Theme” works is because it helps you really focus instead of being all over the place. I would sit and write in my ebook here and there, but I really had to be in the mood to write that day, but once I got writing I could write one or two chapters at a sitting. I did this sporadically and eventually I was finished writing the book, but if I would have set a “Goal Theme” I could have been done with this within two weeks instead of about the three months it took me to finish.
Make Your To Do List Based On Your “Goal Theme”
Once you figure out your “Goal Theme” for the week you need to make most of your “To Do List” based on that goal. Your list should be focused on steps that you take to accomplish your goal. This is an important part of using the “Goal Theme” technique.
Making your “To Do List” should revolve around your goal. If it is not you will probably not reach that goal. The purpose of a “Goal Theme” is so that you focus solely on that goal. Of course other things come up and you will need to accomplish other things that week, but get right back to your list so that you can accomplish that goal. Get your whole list done even if you have to work extra that week to reach your goal.
Your list must include everything you will need to do to accomplish that goal. Make your “Goal Theme” a two week thing if needed. Give yourself enough time to accomplish the goal, but don’t give yourself too much time. You want to push yourself so that you accomplish the goal in a timely manner.
Use The Goal Themes With Any Goal
You can set “Goal Themes” for anything you would like. It will work for business, your personal life, weight loss, etc. Think of how you will set a “Goal Theme” for this week or next week. What will it be? Maybe you want your “Goal Theme” for the week to be to lose four pounds. If that is your “Goal Theme” focus on that completely and you WILL reach it with enough focus. Make your “To Do List” correspond with that goal and go out and do it!
As you can see setting a “Goal Theme” can be very beneficial. It will give you laser like focus for the week or month whatever you choose it to be. I like to do my “Goal Theme” by the week. It makes it much more likely that I will accomplish that goal. Don’t make the goal too big to where it cannot be achieved, but set it high enough so that you can reach your ultimate goal. Remember it’s the small steps that count. Every little step you take towards your big goal means you are moving forward and it doesn’t matter how slowly you are going as long as you are moving forward.

It is very easy to lose focus if you work from home. Being an entrepreneur is tough enough but those distractions at home can really take away the production. Let’s talk a little about how to focus when working from home.
First Things First – NO T.V.!!
Most kids are told “No T.V. while you are doing your homework!” It should be the same thing for adults when working from home! Having the T.V. on while working can be a major distraction even if you are not watching it. The noise can make you lose focus and don’t get me started on annoying loud commercials! Turn that T.V. off! You will be glad you did and you will notice your work and focus will improve a lot!
No Random Texting Or Phone Calls
It is easy to get distracted while working from home because you have nobody who keeps an eye on you. No supervisor or manager to tell you what needs to be done. So why not send your friend a quick text and say “What’s Up”? It’s easy to do if you lose focus you start thinking of other things besides work and your tasks that need to get done. I’m guilty of this big time, but have learned that all it did was make me lose focus and before I knew it I wasted away a big part of the work day! I don’t make random phone calls or texts to family or friends anymore while I’m working. I can always talk later when I have free time, but during a work day I don’t need to lose focus.
When you are working at home it is no different from working at an office. You wouldn’t sit and waste a bunch of time talking about nothing on the phone at your office. Take this advice and don’t let your phone become a distraction. If a friend texts you or calls just tell them politely that you are working and can call or text when you are done. After awhile they will know that you are working and not just sitting at home doing nothing just eating cereal and watching funny cat videos! An easy way to do this is to tell family and friends your work schedule and most of them will understand and not call or text during that time.
Don’t Start Cleaning
I am really guilty of this one. I would take a break from work to get something to eat and see something that needed cleaning. Before I knew it I wasted an hour or two cleaning. What??? That is stupid and unproductive! Clean after you are done working. Don’t look for stuff to do other than work while working from home. It is easy if you’re a clean freak (like me) to let this one waste some of your work day.
Before you start your day look for motivational quotes or videos that get you pumped and ready to crush the day! Don’t put too much time into this but a good 5-10 minutes of inspiration can really help you to get the day started. Here are 42 Awesome Quotes that you will love!
Check Email Only Twice Per Day
As a business owner you will need to use email quit a bit. The trick is don’t check your email every 15 minutes. Set two good times to check your email each day. I like to check my email in the morning and then about an hour before I’m done for the day. This way you can respond to emails consistently without needing to check it all the time. Doing this will ensure that you aren’t leaving important emails and customers hanging for a long time. It will also leave you to focus on other tasks while working at home.
If you really need to check it more than twice maybe check it on lunch and respond to some important emails. That way when you do it on lunch you aren’t losing focus of work that needs to get done. Make it quick when checking emails during your lunch break because you need to get away from work a little also to recharge.
Don’t Go On Social Media For Personal Use
If you are a business owner working from home chances are you will need to do some social media marketing. It’s OK to use social media for business while working, but don’t go on your personal social media accounts. It will only distract you and before you know it you will have lost an hour of work doing nothing! Most of us have done this, but if you catch yourself scrolling through your Facebook feed just because you wanted to means that you are wasting valuable time. Check your personal social media pages when you are done with work. Also if you keep posting and sharing random stuff all day during the weekdays people will think you don’t work.
Everyday before you get done with work make a To Do List for tomorrow. That way when you wake up and start work you know exactly what needs to be done without wasting time thinking of what needs to get done. It will help you stay focused! If you wake up each day not sure what you are going to do it will be very easy to get distracted. Have a plan on how you are going to stay focused while working from home. Having a To Do List is a great way to have a plan and direction for your day.
Get Out And Work Somewhere Else
Sometimes working from home can get boring. You need a change of scenery once in awhile where there are other people. Find restaurants or coffee shops that have free WiFi. It will be nice to get out and that change of scenery can really help spike the productivity. It’s also a great way to get some lunch or breakfast while still working!
Make Working From Home Work For You
Working from home is a great thing. It gives you so much freedom as an entrepreneur. Not having to deal with rush hour traffic or bad weather, getting to work in comfortable clothes (or even your undies), saving money on gas, not having to pay for an expensive office space, etc. It has many benefits that’s for sure! Staying focused and actually getting work done while working from home can always be a challenge.
If you know the things that distract you start to cut them out. Use the advice from this article and it will definitely help to cut out the distractions when working from home. Staying focused and productive is key to accomplishing your business goals. Don’t let working from home be the thing that led to failure. Let it work to your advantage!
One of the most important parts of being successful is to have a partner who believes in you and believes you can do big things. A person who will never give up on you. Having someone who will stand alongside you and support you in anyway necessary to help you both reach your goals.
Time To Talk
I never get to talk about this because I never know how or when to do it. My beautiful wife (Beth) believes in me with all her heart and soul and I couldn’t be more appreciative of this. We’ve been together over 15 years (as of writing this) and she still encourages me and tells me that I will be super successful. She has worked many, many hours to pay the bills while giving me the opportunity to create businesses and without the time she gave me I wouldn’t have accomplished much. One business worked out and many others didn’t, but I never let that stop me. All it takes is one business to take off! I think that every successful person should have a partner like I have. A person who will stand beside you no matter how hot the fire gets! This article is to thank her for all she has done and to let everyone know that nobody can do it all alone.
A Great Friend
I am the luckiest man on this earth! I found a woman who believes in me and who has always believed in me no matter what. She is my wife and my best friend! Without her I might have given up on my dreams long ago. Having someone like her has always given me a reason to keep going. She believes in me more than I believe in myself. Sometimes I wonder why does she believe in me so much? Is there something about me I don’t see? Can I really be that convincing to her that I will be a huge success? I’m still not sure, but I do know she really does believe in me big time! She is not just my wife she is my best friend!
Stay Away From The Wrong People
I always had big dreams and couldn’t stand working for someone for as long as I could remember. I can not explain it, but the thought of punching a clock made me feel sick. I have worked many places in my younger years and I never ever enjoyed any of them. Sure I got by and did my time, but could never imagine myself working at any of those places my whole life. It’s a mindset I have and I can’t change it and never would. Life is short and we are not meant to be here to be average and just get by.
People who have the “average” mindset never understood my thinking. I have heard dumb comments by people who would never take a risk and build their own company. These same people even had the nerve to give me career advice! Never take advice from someone who doesn’t think and act above average! I won’t even talk to some of these people anymore because I don’t want their average thinking rubbing off on me. Stay away from those people because after awhile no matter how you try to shake it off it will rub off on you.
I’ve had people try to discourage me long ago even when I was 18 and 19 years old when I was trying to start an events company. They would tell me that maybe I should get a “real job” and that I need to start thinking realistically. A real job!? What the hell is that anyway! Is a real job something they think as real success? The same people who gave that advice long ago didn’t get anywhere since then and some even went backwards. Wow!… I am lucky I didn’t take their amazing advice! Haters will try to bring you down to their level. It will only work if you let them get to you. Embrace your haters and let them serve as more wood for your fire.
I am stubborn and I am glad for that. By stubborn I mean I wouldn’t take bad advice and get discouraged. I didn’t care if it took me 30 years I was going to be a success! Don’t ever listen to people if you wouldn’t want their life. Take advice only from successful people that you look up to. Stay away from the miserable people who will always try to bring you down. It’s really easy, just stay busy pursuing your dreams and you won’t have time for those people. If you are are busy working on your own success you won’t even hear them when they come within shouting range because you will be too focused to really care what they are saying.
She Always Believed In Me
Having such a great wife that believes in me makes me feel successful even on tough days. I don’t need to hear anyone else’s advice or criticism all I need to hear is her sweet voice always encouraging me. Even after writing this post I can’t put it into words how lucky I am to be her husband. Some things are too hard to put into words. I could not even give a speech at our 10 year anniversary party because I could not find the right words to explain my feelings for her. I just know that what we have could never fully be put into words and that is a good thing. If it’s so good you can’t explain it, then it must be beyond this world!
If you need to go around trying to convince people how good your relationship is then it probably isn’t that good. Some people try to make their relationship look so great on social media. It looks all good, but that is only a front for some people. (not all, just some people) When it’s genuine you will know and won’t have to explain it or put on a show for others. That is what my wife and I have and it’s amazing!
Beth always, always, always believed in me and I am so grateful for that. She never doubted me and always knew that I would do more than just work a basic job. She was willing to suffer financially during some tough times (years) even when the future wasn’t looking so good. Nobody wants to suffer financially because it sucks and it sucks bad! I’ve been there too many times to count and will never go back! My wife never gave up on me in those tough times and because of that I was able to keep moving forward. Even when I didn’t have enough money to even buy business cards!
When things were bad financially she wouldn’t even let me get a job because she knew it could take my focus away from our big goals. She was willing to struggle and deal with some temporary discomfort for the big picture. Some people give up because the temporary discomfort is too much to handle. Not us!
You just keep moving forward even if it’s one small step at a time! Every single little step will help lead you to your bigger goals. The main thing is to keep going! Don’t take the easy way out and quit. Adjust your plans if needed, but don’t quit. Having a great wife has helped me to realize some of my goals and to know that I must keep working on them.
Stand Side By Side
My wife and I are always side by side as a team. I would never say I have a strong wife behind me. No, she is right beside me ready to take on anything and anyone! A super strong woman who made me super strong! When we are standing side by side nothing can stop us. Nobody can discourage us and no person or situation can ever defeat us. We are a great team and if you can find a partner like that it will go a long way in your future success! Thank you Beth for everything and for never giving up on me and always standing by my side.
Still More To Do
I still have lots more to do in the business world and as long as I have my wife by my side I know I will conquer even more goals. I am now just getting the boulder rolling after years of pushing it uphill. The trick is to keep the momentum going! Success is a tricky thing because if you let up it could stop completely. Keep it going and don’t rest when things start to go your way. As a matter of fact when things start going your way hit it even harder because with all that momentum you will be able to achieve even greater success at an even faster rate.
It’s funny how nothing happens for a long a long time and after lots of work things start to get rolling more and more. If I wouldn’t have changed courses in business so many times in the past I could be a lot further with my goals, but I learned from the past and gained so many more skills to make my current business “Fun To Be Social” a success. If there’s anything I learned that is of the most value is to never ever, ever, ever, ever give up! If things aren’t going in the right direction just change your approach, but don’t give up.
Having a great partner in life will be a big key to success. If you are lucky enough to have that don’t ever let them down if they believe in you! Just think about that every time you want to quit. Think about how you don’t want to let your partner down because anyone who believes in you and encourages you should never be let down. They should be able to see you succeed so that they knew they weren’t wrong for trusting in you. They should be able to celebrate with you in your success.
I don’t think I could be a success if I had a wife who thought average and expected me to think the same. My wife never really thought big before meeting me, but since being together she realized that going by the “status quo” was not the way life was supposed to be lived. Anybody can live an average life. That’s why the middle class is the biggest class in our society. Schools taught us that is where we should live. People are conditioned at a young age to get a job, save money, and have a family. It’s a trap that most fall into. Whether you agree with me or not it’s the cold hard facts. Being average and shooting for mediocre goals is a crappy way to live a life!
If being average was so great they would start writing books on how to be average. Very few people would read a book about being average. That’s why there are so many books about success and that’s why some people have made lots and lots of money talking and writing about success. People like Tony Robbins, Grant Cardone, Napoleon Hill and many more have made careers about thinking above average.
Strive For More!
After years of being together our goals have gotten bigger and we talk a lot about our future all the time. We always set new goals to strive for and that keeps our relationship fresh. Couples always need something to look forward to. Beth and I will always have something new to look forward to and new goals to strive for. It’s what makes life exciting and it’s what makes our relationship great.
Quick Story: Just two years ago we decided to leave the cold Wisconsin winters and moved across the country to Nevada. We wanted to enjoy the warm beautiful, sunny winters. It was a big move and there was a lot of uncertainty, but we had faith our plans would work out and that I could continue my business out in Nevada. My wife left a job she loved and took the risk by moving not knowing if she would find something she liked as much. I’m proud to say it worked out great and I’m glad we took that risk. We are doing better now than we ever have. Business is going great and my wife found a job she loves! We even get to go back to Wisconsin to visit family and friends in the summer. The risk and uncertainty of the move might have scared a lot of couples from ever doing it, but we embraced the challenge together.
Don’t be afraid of change and risk. Living in the safe zone is not a way to live, put yourself out there and take on challenges together and if your relationship is strong it will make it stronger and better.
I will never let my wife down because she has never let me down! Always remember that having a partner who believes in you is a gift! Work together and set BIG goals together and success will be so much sweeter!

Motion Creates Emotion!! Hit the ground running don’t walk around all groggy in the morning it will only make you feel even more tired! Start the day fast to gain some great momentum for the rest of the day! Below are 7 tips to get the day started fast.
Use The Morning To Your Advantage!
The morning is what sets the tone for your day. If you start off crabby or irritated it’s a good indication of how your day is going to go.
Get Up and Get Motivated!
One thing that works for me is I don’t use an alarm! I don’t need to my body knows when to wake up. With an alarm going off and telling you when to get up it can actually ruin your morning. I like to get up when my body says it’s time not when an alarm clock tells me! I do have the luxury of being my own boss so I have nobody to answer to if I’m late.
My advice for a good start in the morning is to try waking up with no alarm clock. Set it just so you won’t be late for work, but make it a habit to get up 10 minutes before it goes off. You will notice the difference!
One thing that I’ve noticed is that if I wait about 2 hours to have any coffee in the morning it will be more effective. You need to give your body time to wake up and start running right before ingesting caffeine.
Drink some water to start your day and wait until you actually are awake and working before drinking coffee. I know what you’re thinking “I need my coffee right away!” Here’s my answer NO YOU DON’T!! It’s just in your head! It might be tough to do at first, but it will be worth it once you get past the first three days. Don’t start your day immediately with caffeine that’s not what it’s really meant for. It’s meant to give you some energy when you get a little tired. It’s not meant to be fuel to start your day!
Don’t get me wrong I love coffee (in moderation), but what I learned is if you skip it for the first couple hours of your day you will notice it works much better with giving you energy later in the morning.
Put On Some Music
A good way to start the day is to listen to some of your favorite music. Who doesn’t love hearing the songs that get them singing and dancing?? Getting that feel good energy right away in the morning is good for the soul. Just make sure not to be blasting music if others are sleeping yet! Put in some earbuds you maniac!
Take A Moment To Visualize Your Day
Take just 3-5 minutes with your eyes closed and visualize your day and what you hope to accomplish. While you do this also visualize your day going great with no negativity. This is important to getting you day off to a great start.
Visualize how your first few hours will be, then how your mid day will go, and how you will finish the day strong. Really put it into perspective.
I don’t really meditate or anything, but find this does help me get the day going in the right direction.
Visualize Your Long Term Goals
After visualizing how your day is going to go focus on your long term goals and what they will look like 5, 10, 20 years down the road. This will help give you the reason why you are working today or why you are building your business. Picture how it will look and how it will feel when you reach your goals. This doesn’t have to take long three minutes should be enough time to really visualize your long term goals. If you do this everyday you will not lose focus on your goals!
Visualizing your long term term goals frequently will also put them into your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is what the brain thinks about even when you are not. After burning your goals into your subconscious mind it will give you more plans and strategies to reach those goals when you are not even thinking of them. Napoleon Hill talks about this more in depth in “Think and Grow Rich” if you haven’t read it yet you should!
Even if it is something small like buying them a donut, telling an employee they are doing great, or complimenting someone. Do something nice for someone in the morning and it will keep the positive energy going!
Avoid Time Sucking Useless Activities
Don’t start doing something that will not get you closer to your goals right away in the morning. You want to start your day off right and doing useless stuff will suck your time and energy right away. You want to start the day off running at full speed so don’t get sidetracked by stuff that doesn’t matter.
Give some of these tips a try and find which ones work for you. There is no need to do all of them, but at least a couple of the tips above will help you to get started fast in the morning and on the right track.
The morning time really does set up the rest of your day don’t waste it. Use the morning time to get a jump start on your day! The early bird does not get the worm if he doesn’t do anything!

It’s true Michael Jordan didn’t win all his games, not even close! Brett Favre lost many many games, but he is known for never giving up! They are both known as winners not because they always won, but because they won a lot because they never gave up and didn’t let losses get to them for very long. They were focused on one thing and that was winning!
Don’t Let Little Things Get You Down
Sometimes it may feel like you will never get out of a bad situation. The feeling of hopelessness can linger. Don’t let it keep you down! Bad situations never last forever. You could be closer to success than you think! Click here for some Awesome Motivational Quotes.
“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” -Michael Jordan
Winners win because they never give up! If you think of some of the most successful people ever you will notice one thing. That thing is most of them struggled and went through many tough times before success. There are lots of movies out there about successful people who had to overcome many obstacles before success.
“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.” – Vince Lombardi
Your Losses Make You Better
When you are struggling it’s not all bad news. If anything you are becoming smarter, stronger, and better! The struggles will make you so much better if you do one thing DON’T GIVE UP!!!! Successful people have one thing in common and that is they refuse to give up. If you can find one trait all successful people have that would be the number one trait.
Every Little Step Counts
It may seem like you are not making much progress, but every little step adds up to big things. No matter how slow the you are moving just keep moving forward. In three or five years the little steps will be the reason you succeeded! If I’m having a bad day or week I just keep going because I always think to myself that even if it doesn’t seem like I am accomplishing much I know that every single little step counts!
Winners Will Always Find A Way
Think of what you are doing as a game. Find ways to win the game! Make it a competition with yourself. Use your competitors to motivate you to be better. Whatever you do find a way to win. I am a competitive person and I find that if I make things into a competition I will work harder to win or be better. I do this all the time in business, life, fitness, etc. Look for ways to make it fun and competitive. Find the drive to win no matter what!
You are a winner! Everybody has it in them to accomplish big things. It’s up to you if you will. Always remember that you don’t have to win all the time. All it takes is one thing, one step, one decision. Are you willing to put in the work to win? Will you find a way to win? Make the decision today that winning is all that matters no matter how many setbacks you may experience!
I think that everything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and you put the work and time into it. I think your mind really controls everything. -Michael Phelps

Eliminate your fears to conquer your goals and you WILL become Limitless!
Fear Is Just A State Of Mind
If you realize that most of your fears and worries are just a state of mind it will be easier to overcome them. Most of what we fear or worry about almost never happens. Fear can creep into the mind at anytime for any reason. It’s up to you if you let it stay there.
“We have nothing to fear, but fear itself! -Franklin D Roosevelt
Fear Can Lead To Good Things
For example I hate and fear making cold calls! I mean it sucks and there is really nothing fun about it to me. I like to talk to people, but when I cold call it feels like I am bothering them. So I rarely make cold calls I’d rather do some marketing to get some good warm leads. Just the thought of making cold calls is not fun! Some people like to do that and they are good at it, but I’m not. I can admit when I’m not good at something. I know it’s a state of mind and if I did it more it would become easier but I don’t care I’d rather do something that is a strength of mine and that is social media marketing! That helps me to generate leads and build relationships. It becomes easier to generate new business for me this way. So I took that fear of cold calling and became stronger at social media marketing!
You Either Embrace Fear Or Eliminate Fear
You can take your fear and let it make you stronger or you can eliminate it all together. You always get to choose it’s up to you to face your fears and use them to become limitless! Do what you can to become fearless don’t let the fear of something hold you back from your goals and dreams. Either you can use fear to your advantage and become stronger in another area like I did or eliminate it by facing it head on.
Once you eliminate your fears you will become limitless! Be a lion, a shark, a tiger, a wolf!! Would you rather be fearful and never try something and die anyway or at least face your fears and say “I did it!!”
Be a beast and dominate those fears before they dominate you!
A great way to overcome fear is to take action now! This way you won’t sit around thinking about the fear and letting it grow. If you take immediate action you will overcome a fear faster because you won’t have time to think about it. Become fearless and you will become limitless!
I took a fear and became stronger in another area. What are you going to do with your fear?

Stop wishing for things and put together a plan to attain them! Wishing is for losers who want stuff, but aren’t willing to put in the work. Be a winner and stop wishing and start doing!
I always laugh to myself when I hear someone say “Man, I wish I had that car!” or “I wish I could afford a house like that!” It’s not that they want to have that item, it’s that they wish they could have it. I have news for you it’s possible to have things you really want. So stop with the wishing, there is no magic genie that is going to come out and grant you that wish! The people who own those things didn’t wish for them they most likely went out and worked hard to get them!
Set goals and plans on how you plan on hitting those goals. Once you have your goals and plans set now comes the hard part ACTION! One must take action to make their goals and plans a reality.
The path to success is to take massive, determined action. -Tony Robbins
It won’t be easy, (at least I’ve never seen it come easy) but it will be worth it in the end. When people see someone sells their app to Facebook for 1 billion dollars they think “Wow must be nice!” The truth is that person could have put in 10 years of hard work, skipping parties, working many weekends, working 80 hour weeks, risking their own money, etc. A lot of things that people don’t see, they only see 1 billion dollars and think that person was lucky. Then those people say “I wish I had 1 billion dollars!” See how dumb that can sound? That same person probably goes out a lot of weekends and only works 40 hours per week and is afraid of risk!
If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time. -Zig Ziglar
I’ve learned that every little step will help you get to the big overall goal! Start now, start today even if it’s something small that small step will get you on your way. Whether it’s a business goal, a personal goal, a fitness goal, or something else just get started today!
One quick example: I seen this guy on T.V. who weighed over 700 lbs he couldn’t do much physically, not even walk around his house! He decided he wanted to lose the weight so he started with small steps. Instead of going to a gym or doing some exercises he knew he couldn’t do yet he would just do some movements on the couch. Maybe put on some music and move to the music on the couch or just move back and forth on the couch to engage his muscles. Eventually he was able to do some walking around the house then some walking outside. He eventually lost over 400 lbs!
So what is the point of that story? The point is he took small steps to get to his overall goal. Those small steps lead to him losing over 400 lbs! You can do it too! Maybe you don’t need to lose 400 lbs, but whatever your goal is you can reach it! Stop wishing and start doing! You will accomplish your dreams with Goals, Plans, and Action! Just remember it will take some work. Stay motivated and keep at it even with little steps everyday!
“A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done.” –Vince Lombardi

Really it’s true! The more I learn the more skilled I get at things. I wish I loved learning 20+ years ago like I do now. I would have been an awesome student in high school. That wasn’t the case back then. I loved to goof off and be the class clown. I’ll admit most of it was fun! Not getting my homework done was kind of a drag though. I would feel like an idiot for not turning in my homework and then came the tests that I never studied for. Good Times! (not really) It’s weird how we change over time. I now love to learn! I won’t read anything unless it’s for self improvement. To me fiction books seem like a waste of time. If I’m going to read I want to learn something valuable! If you like fiction that is good too, at least you are ahead of the people who don’t read at all.
So You Are Busy
Are you a busy person? Chances are you are and you are not alone. Most people are very busy. That is still no excuse to stop improving yourself. Use spare time to learn more. Even if you take 5 minutes here and there to read an interesting article that you can learn from that is better than nothing. Fill your brain with data! Everybody has to go to the bathroom and if you are doing your ” bathroom business” that is a good time to do a quick read. Don’t just go on social media and play around, find something that you can learn from. Maybe just a quick article. Then get back to pooping and playing on Facebook! The whole point is there are ways to find time. Find ways where you can fit learning and reading into your schedule.
Keep Ahead Of Your Competition
Read and learn as much as you can whenever you can to stay ahead of your competition! I usually take a little time in the morning to read on stuff in my niche (social media marketing). I try to keep up on it, because it seems like daily there are new changes going on. Social media marketing is a super fast moving industry and if I don’t keep up with the changes and ways to get better at it my competition will.
Whatever industry or niche you are in stay ahead of your competition by learning as much as you can. Never get too busy to improve yourself.
Never Stop Learning
Stay at it, every little bit counts. Never let your mind go without proper exercise. The mind needs exercise just like the body. Keep it active and your brain will stay healthier longer. Just like working out set up a routine. Maybe 10 quick minutes in the morning, or at night before bed. Find time to improve yourself mentally no matter what industry you are in. Always remember that Learners Are Earners!
“I don’t think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.” ~Abraham Lincoln
You must love to learn, because if you made it this far in the article learning and reading is important to you. Look at you go! Keep it up Readers are Leaders and Leaders are Readers!
