Social media changes so fast that even social media marketers heads are spinning on a daily basis! Just when you get used to something or a certain format they change it!

That’s not a bad thing. The reason for most changes is to improve the social media platform.

Just last year Instagram introduced Instagram Stories. Since then they have added so many features. It already looks totally different today than it did last year when it came out. Most of the improvements are meant to make it more fun for users. The new improvements encourage people to use the features more. The more people use the new features the more traffic they can generate and more traffic equals more ad revenue.

As a social media marketer it can be frustrating, but good at the same time. It is a daily task to read up on any new or upcoming changes to social media. If you don’t keep up with the changes you can get lost fast.

Keeping up with the changes to social media is very important because if you don’t you could be wasting money on advertising or you could lose opportunities to reach people with the new features they introduce.

My advice to you is to find a couple resources like Social Media Examiner or Social Media Today and read some articles daily to keep up with the constant changes in social media. It doesn’t take long maybe 15-20 minutes, but it will be worth your time to do some reading so that you can keep up or stay ahead of the competition.

If you own or run a business one thing that you should be doing is using social media to tell your story. Tell your story, tell your businesses story, tell your employees story. Doing this can give your customers an inside look at your business. They will feel more of a connection and this builds trust.

This is actually the first thing I do when we start working on a new social media marketing campaign for our clients. Step one of the process is to get a good profile of the company and find out what their story is, and why their customers should care about their story. This is an important step that we take to ensure that we can give our clients the absolute best way to use social media so that their customers can relate.

Without a story it’s hard to show your customers why they should care about your business. Years back it was not that common to really tell a story about a business. Most businesses would just buy T.V., newspaper, billboard, and magazine ads and just push their products. Today’s marketing is much different. If you just push products constantly now people will ignore you. Why? Because you are not adding any value to the relationship. You should give value first before expecting to ask for someones business.

Telling your story is a great way to add value by building a connection with your customers. When they need what you sell they will think of you because of the connection and familiarity you have build with them through your story.

Telling your story will also help build authority in your industry. Give great advice to people when they ask. Write a blog to keep them educated and informed about your niche.

Why Should They Care?

Your story should be interesting to get people to care. Tell your audience why you started the business. Let them know some of the challenges you are facing. Show them why your products or services are worth their attention. Most of all be FUN! Get them involved some way by asking your followers and customers for their feedback.

Keep Them Updated

As you are making progress with your business keep your followers and customers up to date on what is going on. People love transparency and transparency helps build trust. Be a transparent business and you will get much more engagement on social media.

In Conclusion

Don’t just be boring and post basic stuff on social media. Let your audience in on your story. Be transparent so that they can follow along with your business story. Bring attention to the employees and management. Don’t hide behind a logo and expect people will connect with you on a personal level. Go out today and tell your story on social media!

If you own or manage a car dealership live video is a great social media tool to use. You have the power to instantly let your customers see what you have going on at the car dealership. Some ways you could use live video are;

  • Product Demos: Show your automobiles in action, show off the great benefits of certain vehicles. Do this live and give demonstrations to show why they should buy that vehicle. If they can see the benefits live it might peak their interest more!
  • Sales Events: If you are having a big sales event going on, put that on live video. Give a tour of the building and car lot and show off the sale prices! Tell your live audience of other things going on during the sales event like free food, drinks, etc.
  • Introduce Sales Staff and Management: Use live video to show off your staff and have them do a “take over” for a day so that they can show off their personality to potential customers.
  • Repair Shop: If your car dealership has a repair shop attached, do a live video and talk about the benefits of why your repair shop is a good place to bring a vehicle for repairs. Also let customers see some of the prices of basic repairs and specials so that they have an idea. Use the live video to tell them about any awards you may have won for the repair shop.
  • Answer Questions: If you get a decent sized audience for your live videos you will have people who ask questions and leave comments. This is a great way to instantly connect and maybe even make a sale that very day! Make sure to answer back during the live broadcast.

Show Off Happy Customers

A lot of car dealerships do this and it’s a good thing. Showing happy people standing by a car they just bought is good for business. The mistake I see a lot is that too many car dealerships ONLY do this. Don’t believe me look up a local car dealership and chances are most of their posts are people standing by a car they just bought. There is way more to social media marketing than just posting a generic picture of the same thing over and over.

Don’t get me wrong this is a great way to show off some happy customers and you should do this, but don’t get stuck in the rut of only showing customers by their new car purchase. Expand your horizons and change it up a bit.

 

Updates On New Inventory

The car industry is always changing with new and improved vehicles and features. Use social media to tell your customers about the new inventory that you have or will be getting.

 

Community Events and Charities

If your car dealership is heavily involved in the community (and it should be) social media is a great way to show others what you care about. Talk about the charities you support. Show off pictures of teams or events that you sponsor. Give people that sense that you do care about the local community. Don’t do it to brag, just post things to show others that you care and to maybe even get more support for the local charities and events.

 

Updates and Improvements

If you have some new updates and improvements happening to the building you can show your customers what is happening on social media. Post pictures and videos of the improvements as they happen! Bring your customers along for the ride (no pun intended) on the improvements you are making to the business and the building. Tell them how the new improvements will help with the overall customer experience! Invite them down to come check out the new improvements or promote a Grand Opening.

 

Share Relevant Information

There is always something new to talk about in the automotive industry. Find good articles that you think your customers will like to read and share them on your social media. Are there new safety regulations taking effect? Share an article or video about it. Keep your customers educated and up to date and they will remember you when they are thinking about buying there next car.

 

Recalls

If you sell cars and you know that there is a massive recall on a certain model post about it on your social media pages. When you post about it tell them how they can take the next step to get their vehicle fixed. Be proactive to show your customers that you care about them and their safety.

 

In Closing

There are so many ways to be fun and effective on social media if you own a car dealership. Don’t fall into the trap of just posting the same old stuff over and over again. Get creative to keep your customers and fans engaged. If you can do that you can create loyal customers who are happy that they follow you. Instagram Live is still a fairly new feature on Instagram. It is similar to most live video on other social media platforms accept that the live broadcast disappears right after it is done. You do now have the option to save the video and post on other social media platforms if you wish.

It can be difficult to build an audience for your Instagram Live broadcasts unless you have a massive following. As a social media marketer I have seen and done lots of things in social media. Now, some of the things I have tested work out and some don’t, but that’s what marketing is. Marketing is all about testing and data.

Here is one simple trick that I learned….

 

Learn From Others

I learn a lot of things from other social media marketers and digital marketers. The people in this industry are great at sharing their ideas! I am the first to admit that I don’t know everything. I am always willing to learn new tricks and tips that can benefit my company and my clients with social media marketing.

I even wrote a book How to Be Crazy Fun and Effective on Social Media  and I am still learning new things every day! That’s why I am always watching videos, reading blogs, and connecting with other social media marketers. Learning from others is one way I can get better at social media marketing, but that’s not the one thing I learned to grow Instagram views.

The one trick I learned (below) could help you grow your Instagram Live audience. If you do this and stay consistent you could see your audience grow over time.

 

Set An Exact Schedule

This is the one tip that I am talking about! You will want to produce an Instagram Live show that you do at the same time and same days. If you have a consistent schedule for your Instagram Live show people will start to remember when you are going live.

One good example of this is Brian G. Peters with Buffer. He runs an Instagram Live show called the “Social Social” that runs every Monday-Friday at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time. It is a show run on the Buffer Instagram page where he gives out social media marketing advice. I tune in as much as I can he gives great tips and advice and answers questions during the live broadcast. Brian stays consistent when going live. It’s easy for me to remember and just like clockwork he is on there right on time!

The “Social Social” is a great example of what I am talking about. Come up with a schedule that you can keep. Let your audience know the times and days of your Instagram Live show and STAY CONSISTENT! The consistent time and days will help people to remember when your Instagram Live broadcast will be.

If your audience likes what you have to say and likes the value that you give them they will remember the times and days of your Instagram Live broadcast.

3 Surefire Ways To Grow Your Instagram Following

Over time if you stay consistent with the schedule you will have a good chance to see your Instagram Live audience grow!

 

Your Next Steps

  1. Find a time and the days that you want to do an Instagram Live show.
  2. Create a name for your show.
  3. Brainstorm ideas of subjects you want to cover for each show.
  4. Post the dates and times on your other social media pages.
  5. Be consistent! Do not miss a show, otherwise people will start to think you are not very reliable. Show up when you promise!

It Will Take Time

Expect that it could take 3-6 months or longer to see your audience grow. The two main things you want to do are give great value and have a consistent time when you are going live on Instagram.

It might work out or it might not, but you won’t know until you try this method for awhile. If your audience does start to grow larger and larger you may generate more leads over time because your audience will love the value you give and look to you when they need what you are selling! Instagram Live could work for you if you use it the right way.

If you run a nonprofit organization you know that marketing and fundraising can be a challenge. Without the proper revenue the nonprofit organization cannot survive. This means that every dollar counts when it comes to marketing. In this article we explore some fun and effective ways you can use social media to gain more visibility and eventually raise more funds.

Special Events

Social media is a great place to promote an event. You can do this free or with paid ads. If your nonprofit has a special event coming up get on social media and promote it! Fundraising with social media can be fun with promoting your events.

Start early and post often to remind people to attend or register to attend your event. You want to post often, but not too much maybe space it out to about one post every three days. This way it isn’t too much, but enough to keep it fresh in people’s minds. Create an event on Facebook by going to the events tab. Facebook makes it easy to add events just follow the steps and after you create a few events you will get better at it. Share the link to this Facebook event on your other social media pages.

Use Snapchat to promote the event on your story. If you have a good following on Snapchat they will watch your snaps and this could lead to a nice turnout. Make the snaps interesting and show your followers why they should attend.

 

Show The Benefits

The great thing about running a nonprofit organization is that most likely you are doing it for a great cause that will help people or something else like animals or the environment. People like to see the reason you are out there raising money. They want to see how they can help out your cause.

Social media is the perfect place to show what your organization is accomplishing and how your cause is making a difference. Post pictures and videos to show your followers how your nonprofit is impacting others and why they should care too. The cool thing by doing this is it’s not bragging it’s showing others why your nonprofit is valuable and will get them interested!

 

Get Viral

Remember the “Ice Bucket Challenge”? That reportedly raised nearly 200 million dollars for ALS! If you are lucky you can find something that can raise one percent of that. One percent of that would still equal two million dollars!! Experiment with some videos and some ideas that you think can get some engagements and shares.

Find a challenge that is related to your nonprofit and maybe it will catch fire like the Ice Bucket Challenge. You never know until you do it. Sometimes things just catch on! Sit down with your team and brainstorm some ideas.

Run A Contest

Running a contest will be a fun way to connect with your audience. It can be a contest that is related to the cause of your nonprofit or it can even just be a random contest.

Keep the contest fun! The main goal of a contest is to get more engagements. More engagements can eventually lead to more revenue if you run a nonprofit organization. A contest is a great way to build awareness for your nonprofit.

You can run a contest every week or plan one that runs once per month. If you run a contest on a weekly or monthly basis you can promote it on the days leading up to it. You can also make it a theme that people can look forward to. If you run a contest on a consistent basis people will look forward to the contest!

 

Ask For Donations

If you post valuable and engaging content consistently it’s fine to ask people to donate once in awhile. Don’t think that you can’t do this. The trick is you don’t want to ask all the time. Space it out to once in every ten posts or so. You are on social media to engage and eventually raise more funds for your nonprofit organization!

If you are just starting out on social media build your audience and focus on more engagements before asking for donations. Get your followers to like you and like what your nonprofit stands for.

 

Ask Others To Share

If you have a following that engages with your nonprofit ask them to share your content. If they believe in your cause they will share to help raise awareness. I see this all the time and on my personal social media accounts I see my friends share posts for nonprofit organizations. They do this because it’s a cause they believe in and they want to help even if it means just sharing a post. Build a loyal following and they will share your content also.

Don’t Be Afraid To Put Yourself Out There

If you are an entrepreneur one thing you will need to do is to put yourself out there. What I mean by that is you will need to become the face of your business. You will need to market yourself along with the business. Some people are are afraid to do this because they don’t want to be judged or they may just want to stay hidden behind the scenes. In today’s business world transparency is key.

 

Don’t Worry What Others Think

One of the main reason people are afraid to put themselves out there is because they are afraid what others will think of them. It’s natural to think that way. My advice is this, WHO CARES WHAT THEY THINK!

You started your business because you wanted to be successful so worrying about what people think should be last on your list. Some of the most successful people ever put themselves out there. I bet they had the same concerns at first and cared what others would think of them with their pictures, videos, and name out there for people to see.

People like Steve Jobs, Donald Trump, Grant Cardone, Mark Zuckerberg, and Bill Gates probably didn’t want to really be famous they just wanted to start a successful business. OK, maybe Donald Trump wanted to be famous, but the others probably had no plan to be. It just happened because they knew that putting themselves out there as the face of the business was important.

Don’t worry what people will think. If you do that you will probably fail in other parts of your business because worrying what others think can cripple your confidence.

 

It Will Get Easier

Just like anything the more you do it the easier it becomes. Start by putting your face on the profile pictures for your social media accounts. This is a quick easy way to get started.

After awhile you can put up some pictures and video on social media with your face on it. Add a motivational quote on a picture of you or put out an informative video. After you do this more and more it will become easier. You will have more and more content out there with your face on it and after a while you won’t be worrying about what others think. It will become more natural to you.

 

People Like Dealing With People

I love running a business and could care less about having my face out there. I do it because I know that people like dealing with people. This means you can’t hide behind a logo. Maybe about 10+ years ago you could hide behind a logo and do business that way, but today it doesn’t work that way.

Some of the biggest brands in the world started off as only a brand. Now they are big enough to where their logo is the face of the business. Those businesses started off when it was a normal thing to have the logo be the face of the business.

The fact is in today’s business world people like dealing with people. As a business owner you need to consider that with your branding strategy. Whether it’s you or a partner someone needs to become the face of the business.

Find Your Personality

If you are going to be the face of the business be yourself. People are going to like you or hate you either way so be authentic. Don’t try to be someone different just because you are the face of the business.

Finding your personality isn’t hard, the harder part is to put it out there for all to see. Experiment with platforms like Snapchat and Instagram Stories where content disappears after 24 hours. This way you can get better at putting yourself out there and the content doesn’t last forever. Posting on Snapchat and Instagram Stories is also a great way to see how others are responding to you personally. Interact with others as they respond.

Start A Blog

Every business needs a blog it helps show off your expertise, it helps with search engine optimization (SEO), and it gives you more content to post on social media. If you want to put yourself out there as the face of the business start a blog and fill in the bio area and put a picture of yourself. This way every article you write you will have your name and face on it.

Starting a blog and posting consistently will show your expertise and people will think of you when they need help with what it is you do. Add your personality into your writing and be awesome! Give the best and most valuable advice and tips that you can. Put some pictures or videos of you doing your work in some of your blog posts.

For example, if you are an owner of a nail salon have someone take some pictures or video of you doing someones nails. You can later post this on your blog and write about what you did. If you do this enough you will be seen as an expert in that industry. People will look to you for advice, and when that happens it will lead to more business in the future!!

Not sure how to start a blog? On my 50th blog post I wrote 5 tips that I learned about blogging. Read this and it will help you get started or get better at blogging.

I don’t see myself as a writer at all, but I know blogging is important so I make that a part of my content strategy. Now that I’ve been doing it for a while I actually like it as long as I can find the time to write. That can be the biggest challenge so what I do is I create blog posts in batches when I can. That means I will write 2-3 blog posts at one time that way I can post them later on days I don’t have time to write.

 

Just Get Started

If you have been skeptical on whether you should put yourself out there as the face of the business or not I hope this article has helped. The main thing is to just get started. Like I said the more you do it the easier it will become. 

I didn’t really want to put myself out there as the face of Fun To Be Social, but I knew it needed to be done to build better relationships with customers and followers. I hate my voice on video and didn’t want to do video, but I got over it and my voice isn’t so bad after all…lol I got used to it and stopped worrying about every little thing like how I sounded, or how I looked in a video or picture.

I have some haters that actually look me up from time to time and I love it. They get to see that I am actually doing something and that I’m not afraid to be the face of my business. Embrace your haters because they are proof you are actually accomplishing something. 

The people who sit back and judge are the ones that are weak. If you put yourself out there as the face of your business you are strong and confident. You are confident enough not to care what others think. You are willing to put yourself out there for success!

Now get out there and market yourself!!

If you are on Instagram you know that it is a great way to build a fan base. The trick is to know how to build a loyal following. Once you build a bigger following you can reach more people! The best part is with a bigger following you can reach more people for free on Instagram.

 

Follow Others In The Same Niche

Follow others in your niche to build your following. This is very easy to do. One way to find others in your niche is to find hashtags that are related to your niche. Once you find the right hashtags search them and find people who just used the same hashtag and follow them if they look like the right people or business to follow.

Pro Tip: Don’t follow too many people in one day. Instagram may flag your account for spam if you go overboard. I like to stick to following about 100 accounts per day and not much more.

 

Leave Good Comments

A good way to show your expertise is to find relevant content and leave comments. Don’t leave a generic one word comment with an emoji. Leave a real comment and add to the post. Other people will notice if you are leaving good comments and you will gain followers. I went more in depth on this subject read here.

 

Use The Instagram Live Feature

A little while back Instagram added a “Live” feature and it is still new to the platform. You can create a live video that will disappear right after you are done with the live broadcast.

Use Instagram Live to build excitement about your business and brand by letting people in on upcoming changes to your business or a special sale only for Instagram Live viewers. It’s a great way build a loyal fan base for your live broadcasts. Add some great value and let people know the time you will be going live. Give updates every 30 minutes on your other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat to build an audience before the live broadcast. If people know when it is you are more likely to get views and interactions from your followers.

If you regularly go live on Instagram it can help build your following. When you promote the live broadcast on your other social media platforms people who follow you on them, but not on Instagram will go to Instagram to find you. Some of your followers on other platforms may not even know you were on Instagram and this is a great way to let them know!

 

Instagram Stories Will Help You Connect More Personally

Instagram stories is very similar to Snapchat in that anything you post disappears in 24 hours. You can post as many pictures or videos you want to add a story for your followers to watch. Using Instagram Stories is a great way to show your company and your personality behind the scenes.

I like to use Instagram Stories to give tips and advice on social media and business along with motivation. I also like to show stuff around my office or house to people to let them in on a more personal level. Try Instagram Stories to find ways to connect with your audience. The cool thing is you don’t have to get it right all the time because the content disappears after 24 hours!

Pro Tip: Be careful what kinds of things you show on social media. You don’t want the wrong people seeing some of your most valuable possessions. Doing this is a good thing to remember to keep you safe. There is such a thing as too much sharing!

 

Connect With Influencers

Find influencers in your industry and connect with them on Instagram. It will help you to build a relationship with them and maybe just maybe they will mention you sometime which could lead to more followers. This will take time and you will need to be authentic and add value to them before this would even happen. Think of this as a long term strategy. Who knows you might end up getting a new friend out of it!

Post Consistently

One thing you want to remember is that you want to post on a regular schedule on Instagram. If you post 3 times per week stick to that if it works for you. Don’t post 5 times one week and not post again for another 3 weeks. Consistency will help you build an audience on Instagram.

Instagram is actually a very easy platform to use. I like it because of it’s simplicity. It is fun also because of all the new features they have been adding recently like Instagram Stories and Instagram Live. They keep adding some fun interactive features to make it more useful. Use Instagram to your advantage if you own a business. Instagram is still one of the fastest growing social media platforms out there right now. It’s great to use humor on social media and I talk about this on other posts like 7 Content Ideas For Your Social Media. Posting funny stuff on social media is a great way to get engagements. One thing that you want to do is to try to make the humor relate to your brand or niche. Random humor is good too, but try to create some funny memes or graphics that show off your brand. Create some funny stories or sayings about your niche. Create a funny GIF that will get your followers to laugh and respond.

Have A Personality On Social Media

Nobody wants to follow a business that is “All Business” you need to show off a personality to get more followers and engagements on social media! You want to Be Fun On Social Media!! Don’t post as the business try posting as a person. Show your employees and management. Don’t just show pictures of the business, products, logo, etc.

When you respond to customers in the comments be personal and fun! (Do this only when it’s OK, don’t try to be fun or funny if a customer is mad about something.)

Talk About Charities Your Business Supports

If you show people that your business is charitable it will help them relate to you. Post pictures or videos of you and your employees out at a charitable event. Show off the fun events and the employees having fun while volunteering. It’s a good thing to be part of the community and to give back. Show this on your social media not to brag, but to boost the charity and to tell people who follow your business that you care about more than just business.

Have Fun Days or Themes

What does that mean? It means coming up with some themes that your followers can relate to and look forward to. Come up with some wacky days. Below are some themes you could use;

  • Monday Motivation
  • Tuesday Talk
  • Wacky Wednesday
  • Thirsty Thursday
  • Freaky Friday

The above are just some examples.There is no need to come up with a theme for every single day. Even once per week would be good. You can come up with days and themes that relate to your business and niche. Be creative and do some brainstorming. Once you have a list of some days and themes that you like you can begin testing what works. Make some creative good content to post for any themes you do. See what kind of engagements you are getting keep the themes that work best and discard the rest.

Use Branded Colors

Make sure to add your brands colors on each picture or video you post to any social media platform. It will help others to get to know you brand image.

Our brand colors are blue, red, and yellow. I try to use them as much as possible in any content that is put out on social media. Whether it be the font, background color, image, etc. Doing this will convey a consistent message on social media about your brand.

Facebook allows users to use a chatbot on Messenger. Chatbots are a way to automatically communicate and answer questions on Facebook Messenger. It takes some time to get set up, but once set up it can save you time and money. It can also lead to better customer service.

Usefulness of Chatbots

Personally I have not used a chatbot yet on Facebook Messenger. I have seen them in action and understand why a business would use them. They can save time for you and your customer. If you set up your chatbot correctly it can be very useful.

It is a good way to help answer basic questions and to lead customers to the right answer. Chatbots are becoming more of the norm especially for large businesses.

Chatbots are also very useful when it comes to speed of service. Customers can get an instant answer anytime and any day whether your business is open or closed.

 

Should You Use A Chatbot?

I think it could be beneficial if you don’t have time or have someone who monitors your social media constantly. The fact that customers can get an instant response is reason enough to set up a chatbot and see if it is right for your business.

If you aren’t sure if you should use a chatbot on Facebook Messenger or not, maybe set one up for a little while and monitor it’s effects on customer service. Worst case scenario you can remove it and go back to live customer service on Facebook Messenger.

With social media constantly changing and adding new and improved ways to communicate with customers it is worth trying them to find the right social media tools that will work for your business. If some don’t work out you can always go back to what was working. The thing is you don’t want to not try some of the new useful ways to use social media to help your business and get behind the technological curve. Stay up to date on the new social media tools and find the ones that work for you.

 

Save Money

If you are using a chatbot to help customers get answers then you don’t have to pay someone to monitor Facebook Messenger as much. They can allocate more time to social media marketing instead of answering questions that the chatbot can take care of automatically.

 

In Conclusion

Personally I haven’t set up a chatbot yet, but I think I might experiment more with it in the near future. I like to do live customer service, but the problem with that is sometimes I can’t answer a question on Facebook Messenger for a few hours or longer so chatbots could be very useful to help my customers. I also plan on using them more on client accounts (if they prefer) to save time and money for my clients.

Know that Facebook allows chatbots and it is not against their policy. Since they allow it that means Facebook must see some value from chatbots as well.

If you are one of the few people that do own a casino that is awesome! Casinos are basically a license to print money. I give you lots of credit if you own a casino because I’m sure there is a lot of red tape to go through before you can even think about opening the doors.

Casino marketing is the same as any other business. You need to get the word out to as many people as possible. You need to keep it fresh and fun and give people incentives to come into your establishment.

There are many fun ways to promote your casino on social media while making it look as though you are not trying too hard. The main thing is you need to be doing social media for your casino. Believe it or not I know of some big casinos that don’t even do social media marketing yet or they do very little of it! It’s 2017 and I don’t know why any casino would not be taking advantage of social media marketing.

If you own a casino and haven’t done social media marketing it’s time to start. Let’s get into some fun ways you can do some fun and effective social media marketing.

 

Casino Events

Casino events such as concerts, blackjack tournaments, slot tournaments, etc. are great ways to show off your casino!

  • Post the dates and times of upcoming events
  • Put posters/pics of upcoming performers
  • Show off players in any casino tournaments
  • Post a picture of winners holding up their cash
  • Have a promotion for fans to have a chance to win tickets to concerts or shows

 

Profile Restaurants In The Casino

A lot of casinos have restaurants in them. Show off each restaurant to show your social media followers what your casino has to offer. There’s a chance that a lot of your followers haven’t been to the casino yet. This is a great opportunity to show them why they need to come in.

 

Feature New Slots

With technology always changing casinos are always adding in new machines and taking out the old ones. Whenever your casino gets a new machine brag about the cool new features on it! This will get people excited to come in and try the new and improved slots. If they haven’t been in the casino for a long time this might get them curious to come in to see the new slots.

 

Use Live Video

This is a must in 2017! Live video is now a big and growing trend in social media. If you own any business you will want to add live video into your social media marketing campaign.

There are so many ways to get fun and creative with social media and live video. If you own a casino here are some ways to use live video;

  • Show off your employees
  • Give tours of your casino
  • Do a live broadcast with your restaurant chefs and have them do a video on how to make a dish
  • Film the outside of the casino at night with the lights glowing
  • Give lessons on how to play some of the table games
  • Ask some of the talent from any shows if they would give an interview
  • Film any other fun events going on (concerts, local bands, comedy shows, etc.)

Of course if you film some of a show like a concert or comedy show you don’t want to give away too much maybe just a 3-5 minute live video broadcast.

 

Update People On New Changes

Social media is a great way to be transparent and let people in on new things coming to the casino. You can talk about some upcoming remodeling plans or any new restaurants coming to the casino. Post pictures and video of the changes as they happen to keep people up to date on social media. Doing this will make them feel like they are part of it. This is another way to build excitement around the casino.

 

Special Discounts

Social media is a great way to get people in the doors. Use special discounts for your social media followers to get them in to use at the restaurants or gift shops. Make the discounts for a short period of time like 1 day, 2 days, or up to 1 week.

Platforms like Snapchat and Instagram are great for doing flash sales. A flash sale is a sale that lasts for a very short time. With disappearing content like Snapchat and Instagram stories you can use those platforms to do some limited time promotions that only your followers will see.

Doing very limited time special discounts for only your social media followers work and gives them great incentive to keep following you.

Now that it’s 2017 we know that social media has now been around over a decade. Social media marketing itself is younger than that. Most businesses didn’t even consider social media marketing until about 5 years ago or less. We will never be able to predict 100% what will be the biggest trend in social media marketing. The best thing to do is to predict what it will be based on past and trending social media marketing strategy. I do have an idea about what will be the biggest social media marketing trend of 2017.

It’s not really even that much of a surprise. It has been heading in this direction for quite awhile and now most social media platforms are pushing it and enhancing this feature almost daily.

 

What Is It?

LIVE VIDEO! That is the trend that you need to start working into your social media marketing strategy for 2017. If you haven’t started yet in 2016 it’s time to get the “live video” into your strategy.

I am not mentioning something new here. A lot of internet marketers know this and are saying the same thing. They are able to see what others may not see early and adopt the strategy before everyone else does. Your job is to also become an early adopter and hop on the live video as soon as possible!

Just think of the power you now have at your fingertips with Facebook Live!! It’s amazing to think how far we came in marketing and technology. It’s your job to take advantage of this great age of marketing and make it work for you.

If you haven’t noticed yet Facebook is really pushing their Facebook Live feature on your Facebook feed, T.V., Billboards, and other advertising. You know that if they are putting in that kind of effort to get you to use the Facebook Live feature that they have big plans for it!

It is still fairly new and Facebook will keep adding new and improved features as time goes. Get familiar with it now so that you will be able to connect with your customers in new and fun ways before your competition even thinks about it.

 

Others Are Jumping In!

Recently Instagram has added a Live feature, it is a little different in the fact that the live video disappears immediately after you are done with your live broadcast. It is cool, because you are living in the moment without the video being saved.

Twitter has a live video feature as well. I personally haven’t used the live feature on Twitter yet. (as of writing this) I will have to give it a try and see how good it is.

With other social media platforms implementing the live video feature you know that this is the wave of the future for social media marketing. Know this now and start doing some kind of live video soon to stay with this trend and ahead of your competitors.

How To Set Goals For Your Social Media Marketing

No Goals, No Real Plan

If you don’t have goals you really have no plan. You will need to put together some real goals that you hope to accomplish with your social media marketing campaign. Without goals you will not know which direction to head, how much to spend, how much time it will take, what kind of return on investment (ROI) you will get out of it, etc. You will be like a ship with no direction.

I’ve worked with businesses that really had no clear cut goals for their marketing. I’m not just talking about social media marketing all marketing needs to be clearly defined!

 

Start With The Budget

Always start with the budget because you will need to know how much resources you will have to work with. This includes cash and time. I suggest that you start with a yearly budget and plan it out over the 12 months.

When dividing the budget into 12 months you will want to consider your busiest months and slowest months and figure out how much to put into those months. There is no one answer you can look at it different ways.

  1. Busy Months: If you put more marketing efforts in at this time you may make a lot more or you can put less money and save that money for the slow months.
  2. Slow Months: If you put more marketing efforts in at this time you may get a little more business during the slow times or you could just save that money and put it into the busy months to generate more revenue to make up for the slow months.

A lot of how you plan out your marketing budget will depend on your industry, location, money available, size of your company, and products/services.

Pro Tip: A good way to figure out a budget is to plan 70% and leave 30% open for adding to other marketing, or to current marketing that has been effective. Always leave some room to work with.

 

Where You Want To Invest Your Marketing Dollars

I always suggest that if you’re new or limited on resources start with only one or two social media platforms. This will give you time to get familiar with these social media platforms and to get good at them.

This also works really good for your budget planning. Try not to spread your money too thin by advertising on a lot of social media platforms. Stick with one or two and you will have more money and time to invest in those one or two social media platforms.

Let’s say you have $10,000 to invest in social media marketing for the year. If you are advertising only on Facebook you can make that $10,000 go a long way. If you were going to use that $10,000 on four social media platforms you only have $2,500 to invest on each.

If you can attack one social media platform with more resources you will be much better off than spreading your resources thin on multiple social media platforms. Pick the one social media platform that works best for your business and really crush it.

Pro Tip: Not sure which social media platform to start with? My suggestion is to pick the two that you think are best for reaching your demographic. Spend some time building an audience and learn which one gives you the best engagements.

 

Figure Out The Main Goal

Why are you doing social media marketing? Are you using it to get more leads, get more sales, build brand awareness, to connect with customers? You will need to figure out exactly why you are doing social media marketing in the first place.

Here are 10 Reasons To Do Social Media Marketing

Once you know your reason you can decide which platform is best to hit your goals. Don’t start a social media marketing campaign without knowing what you want out of it. Just remember that social media marketing is a marathon so don’t expect major ROI from the get go. (unless you have a huge marketing budget) If it were that easy everyone would be millionaires from using social media.

If fast sales are what you are looking for it probably won’t happen until you nurture relationships on social media. This can take time, but sales will come you just need to be patient. If you know this going into a social media marketing campaign it will reduce a lot of stress.

Clearly Define Goals For Social Media

 

Define Engagement Numbers

A good way to tell if your social media marketing is going well is by engagements. If you are getting some good engagements that means your customers and followers are finding some value from what you are posting.

When defining your goals you will want to clearly define how many engagements you want per day, per week, or per month. When defining engagement numbers remember your budget and how much time you have to commit to social media. Keep your numbers reasonable so that you have a realistic goal to hit.

Remember also that organic reach is is dropping and getting free engagements is getting harder. You may have to pay for a big percentage of engagements through some advertising. This is something to consider when you define your engagement numbers.

Customer engagements are a way of building relationships with your customers online. That’s why I said not to expect a quick ROI on social media. Use engagements as a gateway to promote down the road as customers and followers look forward to your content.

If you are getting a good number of customer engagements you can use that trust you’ve built to promote your products and services. Just do it sparingly or give away free stuff to build an email list to generate leads.

What should my engagement goal be? A lot will depend on two things your budget and your time. If you have a person who handles your social media for you I’m sure that time is built into the budget. If you don’t have someone who handles your social media you need to factor in the time you have to commit to social media.

Start with a monthly goal and go from there. You can always adjust the goal after a couple of months. I like to keep things simple because a lot of people over complicate things. Just start with a monthly goal and you will be able to clearly define your engagements as you go.

 

In Closing

Setting goals for social media marketing is very important. You need to know why you are doing it in the first place. There is no reason just to do random posts here and there because you think it will be good for business. Most likely you would be wasting your time without clear cut goals.

This is actually pretty easy to do and doesn’t take much time. Find other people or businesses in your niche and industry and follow them. This is a great way to connect with others who are in the same field as you and your business. It’s also a great way to see how their fans are interacting with them and how they respond to their fans.

A great way to do this is by doing a simple search of keywords for your niche. I am in social media marketing so when I look for others in my niche I search keywords like social media marketing, social media experts, social media tips, social media news, etc. This will bring up the right people to follow.

After you find the right people to follow by doing a keyword search you can click on some profiles to see the hashtags they are using in their posts. This is helpful because you can then click on some of the relevant hashtags they use and that will bring you to even more people and businesses to follow in your niche. Once you find others in your niche you can also click on their followers and people they follow to find more people to follow. This will help you pinpoint and find an even more targeted fan base.

You can do this everyday or at least a few days per week to start growing your Instagram following with the right people. You want to make sure that your followers are relevant to your industry and are potential customers. Using these techniques when follow other Instagram accounts will definitely help you grow your Instagram following.

Pro Tip: To prevent getting your account shutdown by Instagram don’t go overboard on following others. I recommend that you follow no more than 100 Instagram accounts per day. If you follow too many accounts in one day Instagram may flag your account as a spam account.

 

Tip #2 Leave Good Constructive Comments

I get so many spam comments on my Instagram accounts and it can be annoying. I will delete those comments as soon as I see them. Spamming others on their Instagram is bad practice. Don’t be that person!

Find relevant posts and leave good constructive comments on these posts. Let others know that you really do like their post. Leave some advice or let them know how awesome their post was!

A great way to show your expertise is to leave some great advice. You can add to their post with some experience you may have had. This will show them and their followers how knowledgeable you are in your niche. It will also lead to more Instagram followers because if people see that you give great advice and contribute value in comments they will follow you.

In this day and age in marketing Content Is King! Your Instagram account is a great place to add awesome and amazing content. This is a great way to show your customers value.

If you are going to be great at social media marketing remember the first rule of great social media marketing is to put out great content. This can be pictures or video.

If you are promoting some products or services put out content that is eye catching and not just promotional. Use the filters on Instagram to make the content even more appealing. I use Canva to create a lot of my content it’s easy to use and the best part it’s free!

Look at what your competition is posting and find the content that they get really good engagement on and do the same. If it’s working for them it will work for you. Don’t just copy them, take the concept and make it your own. Use what is working for them and make your own content that will get some great engagement. After awhile you will know what kind of content works best for getting the most engagements on Instagram.

If you haven’t yet, get on at least the top 4 or 5 social media platforms and secure your business name before someone snatches it up! It’s your brand and you want to protect it. If you don’t secure your brand name on as many social media platforms you risk the chance that someone else gets it and you will have to settle with a different social media handle.

I suggest that you get on as many as possible even if you don’t plan on using that social media platform. This way you will at least have your name secured on there. If you plan on using that social media platform in the future at least you will have the name/handle you wanted.

Then go on each one and sign up and HOPE that your business name is still available on each one. If it is that is very good! It should only take 30-40 minutes total to sign up for five social media platforms. That is not much time to secure your brand name! Do it all at once so you don’t forget.

In my opinion the top five social media platforms would be Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat. I would even throw Pinterest on that list. Get on these social media platforms and secure your brand name before it’s too late!

So you run a business and you do social media marketing and you are on Twitter as part of your marketing that is great! Now one of the questions I get asked a lot is how many times a day should I post/tweet on Twitter?

Twitter Is Busy and Noisy

That being said you could get away with tweeting every 15-20 minutes. The home feed is very busy and minutes after you tweet it will be getting far down the home feed. Twitter as of right does not have an algorithm like Facebook or Instagram which determines who sees your posts. The Twitter home feed is in chronological order. Meaning the most recent tweets are seen first. That is a very good thing because if you have a large following a lot of people will see your tweets. Not a large percentage however because it depends on how many of your followers are on Twitter when you send out a tweet. So if you have a following of 5,000 maybe only 500 are on Twitter at that moment you send out a tweet. That means that 500 may see your tweet, but most likely only half or less will see it because the other people on Twitter at that time may be doing something else besides looking at their home feed.

It Also Depends On What You Are Posting/Tweeting

If you are tweeting only about your business and promoting stop now! Here is an article about adding value first on social media. If you are only promoting I suggest that you only tweet once per day. It’s great to promote on social media, but just don’t do it too much. I stick to the 80/20 rule. I put out about 80% great content and promote only around 20% of the time.

If you are tweeting value like motivational quotes, great info, educating people, that is great! You are adding value first and that will earn you more engagements on social media and will eventually lead to more business and trust with your audience.

How Often Do You Tweet?

 

So Cmon’ Already! How Many Times Should I Tweet Per Day??

Overall I suggest that you tweet between 5-8 times per day. If you tweet about an hour apart that would be once per hour for most of the business day. However like I said earlier Twitter is a busy social media platform so you could tweet every 15-20 minutes without over doing it, but that would take a lot of time and you would need to create a lot of great content to tweet that much every single day!

Stick with a good number and find what works for you and your business. My suggestion is 5-8 tweets per day, and about 2-4 times per day on the weekend. You might find that tweeting 3 times per day works best for you. Find the right balance and take the time to test what works the best.
